Cheap Admission Nights On Tap For This Weekend

Five Buck Nights Scheduled For Lincoln Speedway & Macon Speedway

This weekend is a great one for race fans in Central Illinois, as two nights of racing can be seen for just $5 each.  Lincoln Speedway and Macon Speedway, both promoted by the Track Enterprise office, have slashed admission prices for this weekend to pack the grandstands.  Despite being a $5 admission at each track, both speedways will have full shows of racing with all of the weekly favorites.

On Friday night, May 5 at Lincoln Speedway, Five Buck admission night will feature the UMP Big Ten Pro Late Models, UMP Modifieds, POWRi Lucas Oil DII Midgets presented by Nutech Seed, and the UMP Hornets.  In addition, the 305 Winged Sprint Cars will put on a show at the track for the first time in two years.

On Saturday night, May 6 at Macon Speedway, fans who take advantage of the Five Buck admission will get to see racing in six different divisions.  Headlining the list will be the UMP Pro Late Models and Billingsley Elite Wash Modifieds.  Both classes have seen great racing so far this season with different winners each week.  UMP B-Mods, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets will also be in action.

At Lincoln Speedway Friday, pit gates will open at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, pill draw ends at 6:00, hotlaps begin at 6:15, and racing will take the green at 7:00.  Macon Speedway will open pits at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, pill draw ends at 5:50, hotlaps begin at 6:00, and racing will take the green at 7:00.

In other track news recently announced, both tracks have upped the payout for the Hornet division.  This is in an effort to revive a class which was up in numbers last year but has started slowly this season.  The payout is basically doubled at both facilities with pay at $100 to win and $15 to start based on 15 cars or less.  If the class has 16 cars or more, the winner will receive $120 while start pay is boosted to $20.  The pay increase has been well received by Hornet competitors and officials hope that the car count numbers increase on a weekly basis.

One concern that has been brought up numerous times this week is the weather.  Fortunately, it looks like the rain is predicted to leave the Lincoln area early Thursday afternoon.  It has also been reported that Lincoln did not get as much rain as expected.  All efforts will be made to race there on Friday.  As far as Macon, dry conditions are forecasted on Friday as well as Saturday and winds should help the situation as well.  Updates will be posted on Facebook as well as the website as the next couple of days progress.
